Why is data science important?
Data science is important because it provides a new model for studying the world of learning Data science uses math and algorithms to study patterns of knowledge, which makes data science amazingly useful in our current information-based organization.
Data scientists collect and process large information sets, then use this data to learn how humans or other people function or interact with their environment. This knowledge can be important in understanding human behavior, recognizing issues that affect many people (for example, earthquakes of dangerous diseases), and finding solutions to these problems.
In addition, data scientists help organizations make better decisions by giving answers to questions that might not have been answered before due to the high expense of raising the raw data required for analysis. A data scientist's work can vary from creating a study, mining data for answers, and offering the answers to somebody who can put it into action.
It helps companies turn, often secret, learning about their clients into profitable businesses that keep consumers coming back. In other words, companies pay another team of employees (data scientists) to take raw information about their current and potential customers and turn it into useful insights that drive company strategy.
For example, a data scientist might study how past purchase behavior predicts future spending patterns or recommend products or services to match customer habits. The difference between data science and other forms of analysis like market research or customer surveys is that instead of relying on the opinions or hunches of experts (the data scientist included), data science uses the information to find facts about customers' habits, likes, dislikes, etc.
The values of companies are followed in their bottom line so it's important for businesses to know who their current and possible customers are and how effective they would be for the company. Data scientists help answer these questions so that companies can make more money.
After all, money makes the world go 'round. At a personal level, whether you're running a company or working in IT/data management you should care about data science because knowing" "how our world works" is of most importance.
Data science, when done right, identifies trends and decorations in data to find answers for unknowns or questions we may not know to ask yet.
Those answers play a role in the way we work (or don't), live (or don't), and exist (or don't). The capacity to answer these kinds of questions sets us up for authority rather than failure when it comes time to make important decisions that affect our lives.
Data scientists help to identify these patterns and trends so that we can be more knowledgeable about ourselves and the products/services we use every day. This gives us an advantage over other people who do not have access to such knowledge which could potentially be used against them.
